Review - Wicked Little Secrets by Kara Taylor

Hello all!

It's been a while since I posted, and I'm going to be changing things up a bit. This blog will continue to be solely focused on reviews or other book related topics, but I'm also going to maintain the class blog that I started in January for my knowledge management class. This really isn't a big change, all it means is when I blog about library school or other library issues it will be on that blog instead of this one. So feel free to check it out if you are interested or thinking about going to library school. I should have a new blog up by the end of today reflecting on what I've learned in the past year. Now on to the book discussion!

Today I'm talking about Wicked Little Secrets by Kara Taylor, which is the second in the Prep School Confidential series.

Review - School Spirits by Rachel Hawkins

Hey Y'all,

Today I'm reviewing School Spirits by Rachel Hawkins

Summary From Goodreads: Fifteen-year-old Izzy Brannick was trained to fight monsters. For centuries, her family has hunted magical creatures. But when Izzy’s older sister vanishes without a trace while on a job, Izzy's mom decides they need to take a break.

Izzy and her mom move to a new town, but they soon discover it’s not as normal as it appears. A series of hauntings has been plaguing the local high school, and Izzy is determined to prove her worth and investigate. But assuming the guise of an average teenager is easier said than done. For a tough girl who's always been on her own, it’s strange to suddenly make friends and maybe even have a crush.

Can Izzy trust her new friends to help find the secret behind the hauntings before more people get hurt?

Rachel Hawkins' delightful spin-off brings the same wit and charm as the New York Times best-selling Hex Hall series. Get ready for more magic, mystery and romance!

Review - The Fiery Heart by Richelle Mead

Hey Y'all,

Today I'm reviewing The Fiery Heart (#4 in the Bloodlines Series) by Richelle Mead.

Summary From Goodreads: Sydney Sage is an Alchemist, one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets - and human lives.

In The Indigo Spell, Sydney was torn between the Alchemist way of life and what her heart and gut were telling her to do. And in one breathtaking moment that Richelle Mead fans will never forget, she made a decision that shocked even her. . . .

But the struggle isn't over for Sydney. As she navigates the aftermath of her life-changing decision, she still finds herself pulled in too many directions at once. Her sister Zoe has arrived, and while Sydney longs to grow closer to her, there's still so much she must keep secret. Working with Marcus has changed the way she views the Alchemists, and Sydney must tread a careful path as she harnesses her profound magical ability to undermine the way of life she was raised to defend. Consumed by passion and vengeance, Sydney struggles to keep her secret life under wraps as the threat of exposure — and re-education — looms larger than ever.

Pulses will race throughout this smoldering fourth installment in the New York Times bestselling Bloodlines series, where no secret is safe.
