Review - Blood Orange by Karen Keskinen

Hey Y'all,

Today I'm reviewing a book from Netgalley called Blood Orange by Karen Keskinen.

Blood Orange is the story of PI Jaymie Zarlin who normally deals with finding missing people, but finds herself drawn into a murder investigation of local teenager Lili Molina. Faced with the police's mishandling of the case, she works tirelessly to uncover the truth of what happened to Lili. Jaymie's search for the killer leads her into the hornet's nest of Santa Barbara's rich & poor.

I couldn't help but (favorably) draw comparisons of Veronica Mars to Blood Orange. Both include a feisty female PI in a community that features both the 1% and the 99% sharing the same city. That said, Karen Keskinen hit the nail on the head with Blood Orange. It was an exciting, page turning, twist filled story. I can't wait to read the next Jaymie Zarlin book. Highly recommend this debut by Karen Keskinen.

4/5 Stars
